Ramada is one of the seven former Portuguese parishes in the municipality of Odivelas, with an area of 3.86 km² and 19,657 inhabitants (2011). Its population density was 5 092.5 h/km².
It was extinguished (aggregated) by the administrative reorganization of 2012/2013, and its territory is integrated in the parish of Ramada and Caneças.
It borders the parishes of Caneças, Famões, Odivelas (in the municipality of Odivelas), and also with the parishes of Santo António dos Cavaleiros and Loures, in the municipality of the same name.
The name Ramada came from the traps that fishermen set in the river. They put sticks covered with leaves and when a fish was caught they said that a branch had been made there.
